2.6 million dollar Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika Sorensen

Ginn Clubs and Resorts will sponsor and stage one of the richest LPGA tour events: the 2.6 million dollar Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika Sorensen at the Arnold Palmer designed RiverTowne Country Club Golf Course on May 31-June 3, 2007, right on the heels of the Senior PGA at Kiawah. It will be nationally televised by NBC Sports. The 72 hole event will also focus on a tribute to an LPGA great each year. The player will be honored and saluted in ceremonies during tournament week.

Annika, winner of more than 65 LPGA tournaments, was interviewed in Bon Appetit this month. Discussing her Swedish upbringing, she was raised on salmon and other fish. Now she can’t do without cheese, especially blue and lots of fruit. Her favorite chefs to watch are Ming Tsai, Emeril and the Naked Chef. Her fantasy dinner guests? Madonna, Brad Pitt and Princess Diana. WOW!
