In order to be successful in RE Investing, you are going to need to establish a number of contacts for legal advice, mortgage providors, financial advisors, hard money lenders and a network of other investors and realtors.

A good way to get on the fast track to forming an associative network is to have some motivation and purpose to start interacting with these folks, even while you are still trying to get the fundamentals of REI under your belt.

Learning how to find and research properties suitable for whatever investment methods you decide to utilize, once you have established a basis for an informed decision as to the types of investing you want to undertake, is key. Part of this learning process can be acheived by 'bird-dogging' properties for other investors. Extensive bird-dogging, where you are essentially setting up all aspects of the deal and then flipping the properties to the end investor, can easily net one $3 -5K or more on a carefully structured transaction. Less intensive, but still lucrative and educational, as well as being a vehicle for establishing a network of contacts, is referring property leads to interested investors.

Whatever approach you take to learning the REI business, understand at the outset that, despite what the infomercials tell you there is no "getting rich quick" or "overnight wealth" and the "road to riches" can be bumpy.

As you know, Dan, I strive to find quality alternatives to the run-of-the-mill REI information and web sites that permeate the Internet and TV.
I found all the shyster, guru, "get rich quick" crap too much to stomach, so I took it upon myself to do something about it.

That can only be acheived by spending an inordinate amount of time online. But, its worth it if I can keep some sheep from being unnecessarily shorn and steer them to the worthwhile resources that do exist, such as yourself.

I'm counting down the days to Magic Bullets. Hey, if I find some time, maybe I will add a countdown script to my site. __ days to Magic Bullets. Fill in the blank for me.

Your to much my man! For instance how the heck did you know I replied to this message in split second time? Hey your promoting the book more than me, whats going on here? Put 35 days up Bruce and I'll cross my fingers that the presses are rolling at that time, this book thing is a trial of human endurance but it must be done. As you say, there are way to many people getting taken advantage of out there, we have to do everything we can to combat the wolves.

Happy days are here again!

We survived Hurricane Frances, Ivan is heading through the Gulf, not the state (Lord, [i]please help everyone [/i]in the path of that bad boy), power has just come back on after about 10 days AND Dan Auito has released his new book!
