A Note of Holiday Shopping Caution

It’s that time of year again...Holiday parties and plays, visiting relatives and friends, decorating and lots of shopping. Online sales are expected to rise 18% over last year to $32 billion spent by some 114 million users. Not only are more people shopping via the internet, they’re spending more money. With this new shopping venue comes a few words of advice.
When placing an order, you are directed to a secure site to enter your info. You’ll notice an “s” has been added to the site address to denote you are on a secure site.
When your order is placed the transaction is finalized. They will never email you and ask for information to complete your transaction. This is a favorite scam. The “phishers” figure the odds are good that you will have placed an order and with the holiday pressure, you’ll figure you made an error and give the credit card info they ask for.

This will enable them to finance an expansion that could take them nationwide. Since 1992, they have opened restaurants in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida.
